Hello neighbors,
It is truly an honor and my pleasure to serve this community as the Chief of the Westmere Fire Department. My journey began in the fire service at the age of 18. Looking back, I see a confused teenager, one who lost his father at the age of 13 to cancer. I was searching to find purpose and structure in life. And boy did that first step in the volunteer fire service change my life going forward. The passion and commitment to volunteering and giving back to my community has only expanded over my 35+ year career. I am very grateful to my community in which I call home as well as the brave men and women whom I serve beside.
The Westmere Fire Department is comprised of 60+ volunteers who spend endless hours preparing for the next call for help. Their dedication and commitment to serving our community stands strong. Our organizational values of Professionalism, Readiness, Teamwork, and Integrity are present in everything we do. Our core values, linked with our vision of being a benchmark organization in emergency service, serve as our guiding principles.
On behalf of all our brave volunteers, I would like to thank our residents and businesses for your continued support over the years. I encourage each of you to consider joining our team. Take the first step and stop by the station any Monday evening to learn more about your fire department, including membership classifications and volunteer opportunities. I can only hope you can achieve the sense of graciousness, purpose, and fulfillment that has been instilled in me throughout my career while serving my community.
Fire Chief Anthony Carrow
